What is a Bassador?

Bassadors are bizarre looking mutts bred from Basset Hounds and Labrador Retrievers. I have two. One is a Hurricane Katrina rescue named Goofy, and the other is a little hedonist from Chapel Hill named Stinky. Personality-wise, Goofy is all lab, and Stinky is all Basset. It's like having apartment-sized labs, which is ideal for NYC. The strange thing is that you can only find them in the South, usually through rescues. They breed them in the South as hunting dogs since ideally they would have soft retriever mouths and the ability to track like scent hounds. If you have the opportunity to rescue a Bassador, please do so!
