Fish oil is great for dogs because it is anti-inflammatory, so if you have an allergic dog it's ideal. However, it's now recommend to help with all sorts of conditions, including cholesterol, kidney disease and arthritis. Omega-3's also support healthy skin, coat and eyes. I definitely noticed a difference in their coats after a month or so of feeding them fish oil. The coats were shinier, and they shed less.
Although you can feed your dog fish oil from pet supply places, I prefer to feed them the human version.
I found your post thru google. Our 3 yr old pit bull is suffering from skin allergies. Would you recommend that I give him the fish oil tablets?
